100th edition Le Mans 24h, starts tomorrow!

The 24h Le Mans is an annual car race that takes place in France. The goal for teams of three competitors is to drive as many laps as possible in exactly 24 hours. This year, on 10-11 June, is the 100th edition of Le Mans. We ask Paweł Ochyński, CEO of Green Cell, about his interest in the race.

Do you follow the 24 Hours of Le Mans races? Are you going to watch this year's edition?

Paweł Ochyński: I used to watch when I was a teenager, on the Eurosport channel. And now I'm going back to it, as a result of my interest in motorsport. I can't wait for the electric category to start at Le Mans.

So who will you be cheering for this year?

Paweł Ochyński: Robert Kubica, of course! He was close to win in 2021, so now it would be great to have a Polish success.

When do you think the first electrics will appear on the race edition?

Paweł Ochyński: As Le Mans is an endurance race, showing how much a car can endure for 24 hours and how much it can drive, electric cars should appear there as soon as possible. I think that in two to three years' time such a category will enter at Le Mans and it will show what the real difference is between electrics and combustion cars. In fact, there are plans for a hydrogen-electric car to appear there as early as 2025, and what's also interesting is that Dutch students had such a project to make ultra-fast charging cars on the race track, but I don't know if it finally came to fruition.

Will Green Cell participate then?

Paweł Ochyński: As a supporting partner in the electrical category, definitely!

So we are cheering on Robert Kubica and the introduction of electrics at the 24 Hours of Le Mains as soon as possible.
